Field Reopening Update

Recently the Redondo Beach Unified School District welcomed back grades TK-2 on campus for school, grade 3 will return February 24, and grades 4 and 5 will return for in-person hybrid learning March 3rd while 6th grade will tenatively return March 9th.  LA County Department of Public Health has not approved reopening for grades 7 and above yet.  Here is link to the latest RBUSD school re-opening update: https://www.rbusd.org/apps/news/article/1178446

This is all good news as getting students back to on-campus learning is currently a prerequisite prior to field permits being approved for soccer activities.

Below is the guidance we received regarding reopening of fields which has the approval of field permits for external user groups (like AYSO) following the lead of school re-openings:

  • At the point when all elementary grades (TK-5) have been able to return to in person learning, we would then consider the use of our elementary facilities by external user groups. (This would potentially make Washington Elementary field available for soccer activities.)

  • At the point when middle schools are able to reopen to all grades for modified in person learning, we would then consider the use of those facilities by external user groups. (This would potentially make Adams Middle school field available which is our primary field for soccer.)
