Congratulations to Region 17's North Redondo Beach U12 Boys team for their remarkable 1st place standing at the AYSO 2023 National Tournament!

In a summer of fierce dedication, twelve boys from AYSO Region 17's U12B were selected to embrace the noble challenge of representing themselves, their families, their region, and their home community of North Redondo Beach at the prestigious AYSO 2023 National Tournament. The team, known as Redondo FC, consisted of players who have all played in either or both AYSO core seasons of 2023 Spring and 2022 Fall. Collectively, they have racked over 48 seasons of AYSO soccer experience.

The AYSO 2023 National Tournament kicked off on July 24, 2023 with an impactful opening ceremony at Dignity Health Sports Park, home of the LA Galaxy. Joined by 320 teams from across the United States, the excitement was palpable as young boys and girls from 10U to 19U gathered to compete for the national title within their respective divisions.

Over five intense days in the sweltering heat at The Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California, Redondo FC played a total of 9 games. For their first seven games of group play, they racked and achieved a record of 6 wins, 1 tie, and 0 losses which secured them a spot to the semi-finals where only 4 teams out of 32 qualified. From there, Region 17's Redondo FC continued with a 4-0 victory over Walnut in the semi-finals and then to a thrilling finals match against Manhattan Beach, which resulted in a 2-0 win in favor of North Redondo.

Fueling their spirits, the team's pregame shout, "Who are we? Redondo! Who are we? Redondo! Redondo on me, Redondo on three, 1-2-3 Redondo!" echoed through the air and grew stronger with each game.
